An Exercise In Touching Your Soul: Affirmations in the Mirror

by Dr. Christopher on March 11, 2012

They (the creators of quotes) say “the eyes are windows to the soul”.

If that’s the case, how well do you know your own soul?

Go to a mirror.

Look into your own eyes.

Appreciate your beauty, your integrity, your heart, your realness.

No, you’re not done after 5 seconds.

Look into your eyes for a solid 5 minutes.  Talk to yourself.  Say “I love you (insert name here).”  Tell yourself what you love about yourself and what you’re grateful for.

Your purpose is to try to understand who you are.

When you start to feel the inevitable tingling in every limb, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ….

Now you’re touching your soul.

Can you see how almost unimaginably powerful you are!

You might be saying to yourself, “That’s stupid Chris.  I’m not doing that!”

Or perhaps you tried it and found it really awkward.  It will be at first.  But it gets easier with practice, just like anything else in life.

But please do it, because Chris loves you!

Let me know what you learn?

If you don’t know how to turn on your own power, follow the lead of this little girl.

If you do this everyday, you’ll find your confidence and security in who you are radiating aggressively out of your soul, like an old man at a deli trying to send back soup.  (Sorry, had to use the George Costanza quote.)

Then you’ll be able to see your life’s big picture, and how beautiful your creation is from an endpoint perspective.  And that you can do anything good, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

What do you love about yourself?

Adorable and self-assured little girl! Perfect video clip!! I promise to try this even if it takes me a long time to be three or four years old again 🙂
