If I had it my way, I'd put Abe on the $1,000 bill, because he's worth way more than $5.
When trying to master life on Earth in order to be as healthy and happy as possible, it can be helpful to learn how other humans fail and succeed.
Why not learn from the best then, right?
And to celebrate his birthday today, we’ll learn from Honest Abraham Lincoln.
When I do good, I feel good.
When I do bad, I feel bad.
That’s my religion.
~ Abraham Lincoln
Does morality and the choices you make every day have to get more complicated than that?
I don’t think so.
Man, I love you Abe.
Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.
Choose your beliefs, values, and life principles wisely (place your feet). Stand firm by holding them above all else.
I highly value “integrity.” Telling the truth and doing what I say I will do is very important to me. Therefore, when I say “I’ll meet you at 10 AM,” I want people to believe I’ll be there at 10 AM.
Even if something comes up or gets in the way of that 10 AM appointment, I make sure I get my butt there, just because I said I would.
Die when I may, I want it said by those who knew me best
that I always plucked a thistle and planted a flower
where I thought a flower would grow.
~ Abraham Lincoln
Who doesn’t want to leave their mark on this earth and have it be a good one? To leave a legacy of love?
Life’s too short to live without compassion.
I care not much for a man’s religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.
Religion helps people be comforted with death and understand right from wrong. But does it change the way you treat other lives?
Even if it is a dog, or even an ant?
If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?
I’ve found transparency in my life to be absolutely liberating.
This is why if you’re friends with me on Facebook, you’ll see pictures of me with a beer in hand.
Many doctors would go out of their way to get those pictures off, but I want people to know, “Yes, Dr. Chris drinks beer.”
On my end, I don’t have to worry about facades, I can just be me.
A woman is the only thing I am afraid of that I know will not hurt me.
Hear that? For any of you females out there, you’re scary. In a good way though. ; )
